Das Racist is composed of Queens-born Himanshu Suri (aka Heems), and San Francisco-born Victor Vazquez (aka Kool A.D.), joined by hype man Ashok Kondabolu, known as Dap, for live performances and in music videos. Known for their use of humor, and unconventional style, obscure references, Das Racist has been both dismissed as joke rap and hailed as an urgent new voice in rap. After get the Internet fame in 2008 with their song Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, Das Racist established themselves as credible rappers with the release their mixtapes Shut Up, Dude and Sit Down, Man.in 2010. And Spin magazine selected Das Racist as one of 50 acts to watch at the 2010 SXSW festival, and in April 2010, MTV Iggy picked Das Racist as one of the 25 Best New Bands in the World. And also Rolling Stone declared their song titled hahahaha jk? from Sit Down, Man as one of the 50 best singles in 2010.
